Replaced My Old Sony ES Series Receiver, I have a Sony STR-receiver DA333ES for about 10 years and then died. I could not afford another ES-series receiver to get and I was afraid of not being satisfied with this. I am pleased to report that the receiver new sounds even better on my old high-end device. With the same Sony Blu-ray, Sony SXRD displays, DirecTV HD DVR, and even the Polk speakers, the sound quality of this new receiver is much better. All with the HDMI cables is a snap and the system works very well together. Using the microphone included for auto-calibration settings was a breeze. It adjusts the speaker distance and size, you put the crossover on the sub woofer and takes all the guesswork on a manual installation. I do not go crazy about the glossy front of the unit … seems like a magnet to attract dust. Other than that one minor complaint, I am very happy with my purchase. Amazon thanks!

Nice Value, The RM 705 is a well-constructed. This is a clear upgrade my home theater system from JVC 6 years ago.

A design flaw in my mind is how easy or light wire to connect speakers to small. I know that in theory only once, but the springs can be replaced by a push / pull type grabber.

The five speakers are well finished with a beautiful glossy black, which collects fingerprints like a magnet - so be prepared to sweep them.

Good Value Receiver, I bought this receiver as an upgrade to replace my old Sony receiver that finally died. So far it's been great and has almost everything I want to do for my setup. It has 4 HDMI inputs, so it should be something that can be used for many years as HDMI is basically the new standard for high definition video / audio. One feature I found particularly nice feature is the automatic calibration. This makes installation a snap and I left the settings for the most part alone, as it sounds good, just use the automatic calibration.
